AboitizPower signs Cleanergy supply deal with SFELAPCO

AboitizPower will supply renewable energy to San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company (SFELAPCO) for three years starting Dec. 26, 2009. Cleanergy, the AboitizPower brand of clean and renewable energy, will be sourced from AboitizPower's Tiwi-Makban geothermal facilities, as well as from its Hedcor-Irisan hydroelectric plant in Benguet.

AboitizPower Corporation (AboitizPower) recorded a net income of P2.2 billion (bn) for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2009, a 99% increase versus the same period last year. On a year-to-date basis, AboitizPower recorded a total net income of P3.8 bn, up by 20% from P3.2 bn of the same period last year. This translates to an earnings per share of P0.52. With a non-recurring loss of P171 mn (versus last year’s non-recurring net loss of P281 mn), core net income grew by 15% year-on-year (YOY), from P3.4 bn to P4.0 bn. The non-recurring loss for the period in review was a result of the one-off expenses related to the acquisition of the Tiwi-Makban geothermal plants, which was partially offset by foreign exchange gains that resulted from the revaluation of dollar-denominated loans and placements.
